Day 42: Starting a Business Is Hard

by Feb 11, 2021Challenges, HOAM Insights0 comments

For those of you who have started a business, you know how demanding and difficult that is.

There are days when you start wondering, “Do I have what it takes?”

Yesterday was a day like that for me.

I’ve shared the past two weeks that I have realized my business is too scattered and cluttered.

  • I’m doing too many things that are too unrelated
  • My opportunity cost is too high
  • I need to streamline

That’s a lot of work.

It also means I’ll need to say, “No,” to people I’ve been doing things for, which may disappoint them.

I don’t like disappointing people. Do you?

Reading my Hero On A Mission (HOAM) Life Plan and Goals reminded me: it’s worth it! Don’t give up!

Learn, yes.

Grow professionally, yes.

Be more disciplined, yes.

Minimize low-reward opportunities and prioritize high-reward opportunities, yes.

But don’t give up.

I’ve got a long way to go.

I’ve got a wife who loves and supports me.

I’ve got friends who cheer me on.

I’ve got a call on my life that demands my best efforts.

That’s enough.
